Audi City CyberStore In London Is a HighTech One-of-a-Kind Car Showroom

Audi City showroom has opened today in London's Piccadilly to bring a new shopping experience with an immersive environment to its customers. A huge team of engineers, architects and designers worked together to build such a high-tech arena full of touch-screen interfaces and one-of-a-kind experience for car-lovers. Wallpaper blog has even gone over the board to call it a "Apple Store for Cars".

Once a customer enters the 'Audi City' , he will select his favorite Audi vehicle from a million different configuraitons displayed on a multi-touch table-top screen. Then that image is transferred to a realistic 1:1 scale HD screen before him. And what comes next is sure to blow you away. A virtual man describes the chosen vehicle and its every small engineering detail. The viewer can reconfigure the interiors and spin the entire 3D model of the car in 360 degrees and drive it through virtual landscapes.

Paying attention to minutest of details, the engineers have made sure that the acoustic system of every car (engine sounds, as well as door opening/shutting of each car) is unique and audible to the specific customer. While, if you are a serious customer, you can also have your own private room that allows you to configure your vehicle on a multi-touch table and save the data on a USB stick for buying later. Audi also plans to work on something that will let you virtually drive those cars. How cool is that?

After London, what's next? Well, the company has planned 20 stores in major international cities by 2015, starting with Beijing. The wait will surely be worth it. What do you think?
