Alcatel Onetouch Fire C 4020D Firefox OS Smartphone Arrives As A Flipkart Exclusive For Rs. 1,990
Alcatel has announced the India launch of its Firefox OS smartphone at a press event held yesterday. The Alcatel Onetouch Fire C comes with a dirt-cheap price tag of Rs. 1,990 and will be available exclusively on Flipkart soon. As you might have noticed, Alcatel’s offering is three hundred bucks cheaper than the Spice Fire One Mi - FX 1- The Firefox OS Phone In India Priced At Rs. 2,299.So let’s see what the smartphone has to offer to potential customers. The Alcatel Onetouch Fire C sports a 3.5inch TFT HVGA (480 x 320 pixels) resolution display and supports single touch gestures. Underneath the hood, we find a Spreadtrum SC 6821, a SoC made exclusively for Mozilla by Spreadtrum for its cheap Firefox OS devices.
The Spreadtrum SC 6821 houses a 1GHz ARM Cortex A5 processor, ARM Mali-400 GPU and 128 MB RAM. All this hardware has been entrusted with the responsibility of running Firefox v1.3 . Out of the 256 MB internal memory available on the Alcatel Onetouch Fire C the user is left with just 65MB. This is not a problem as we find a microSD card slot that is able to gobble up cards of up to 32GB. This Dual-SIM enabled handset features connectivity options like Bluetooth 2.1, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and microUSB. Sadly, just like the Spice Fire One Mi - FX 1 we are missing 3G connectivity and as we had informed you earlier this is a huge drawback for a phone that relies heavily on the internet to function. While the Spice Fire One Mi - FX 1 had two cameras, the Alcatel Onetouch Fire C just has a single 1.3 megapixel camera on the rear that is able to record HVGA (480 x 320) resolution videos. The smartphone is powered by a 1000mAh battery that is claimed to last for 160 hours on standby and offer 7 hours of talk time. Did we mention it has a FM Radio tuner too?
