Alcatel, the brand from the Chinese handset manufacturer - TCL has come up with a new smartphone called Idol X+ and has launched it officially in China. Alcatel has released a lot of smartphones in the past, but none of them have been quite popular. After a series of leaks, Alcatel Idol X+ has been made official by TCL and has been introduced with an accessory called the BoomBand. As we take a look at the Alcatel Idol X+ features and specs sheet, we find a 5-inch full HD display with 1080 pixel resolution made safe with Dragontrail Glass. Powered by a 2GHz MediaTek MT6592 Octa-Core processor, the Alcatel Idol X+ sports a 2,500 mAh battery packed inside a body that is 7.9mm thin with a bezel of 1.9mm.

The smartphone packs 2GB of RAM and 16GB of onboard storage. On the rear end of the phone, you will find a 13 megapixel rear-facing camera. The accompanying BoomBand is an accessory that you can use it is as a wearable Bluetooth device that Alcatel states will be able to track for activity as well as to ensure that you do not leave your phone behind, presumably by alerting the user once they are out of Bluetooth range. The Boom Band is nothing but a Bluetooth-enabled wristband that is available in various colors. It is compatible with the Idol X+ via a companion app, which also tracks user's fitness. As of now, there is no word whether the Boom Band will work only with newly launched Idol X+, or if it is compatible with other Android smartphones also.
