Airbus Says No To Li-Ion Batteries, Would Stick To Traditional Batteries

The skies are occupied mostly by the two companies - Boeing & Airbus; and Airbus has quickly learned from the problems Boeing faced because of the Lithium-Ion batteries. The company recently announced that they won't use Li-Ion batteries in their upcoming aircrafts A350-XWB to avoid possible delays in production.

The Li-Ion batteries lower the overall weight of the airplane and Boeing said that throughout their investigation so far, they have found nothing that'd question the original decision of adopting Li-Ion batteries. The company might work on regulators to reduce the risks involved.

The battery experts believe that Boeing's engineering teams have narrowed down the possible causes of failures and the fix would require only a few changes to offer enough assurance that batteries can be used safely.
