Acer Iconia A510 Android 4.0 Tablet For $450 With 'Olympic Logo' On The Back

We first heard about this tablet at CES 2012. And just two months later, we have an official announcement from Acer about the 'Acer Iconia A510 Tablet' being launched in the US and Canada. What we see in the tablet is a Tegra 3 powered, 10.1-inch, 1280 x 800 display, that runs on Android 4.0. And the tablet is available for pre-order today at the price of $449.99. You can see a lot of brothers in the tablet market, with #-Link-Snipped-# coming in India and #-Link-Snipped-#, which is available for $400.

Iconia A510 promising up to 12 hours of video playback is quite remarkable. The extra power doesn't add bulk to the tablet because parallel battery packaging keeps it slim. Though the other features are not much impressive, we have in the package a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera  and a 1-megapixel front-facing camera, 32GB of internal storage and a microSD card slot for up to 32GB more.

Mobile productivity apps include "Acer Ring" the pop-up launcher, "Acer Print" which makes wireless printing easier and the Polaris Office 3.5 suite. If you are one of those gadget-lovers who takes pride in buying limited-edition products, here's some scoop. This A510 tablet is an 'Olympic Edition'. So, we get 'Olympic Rings' engraved on the back of the tablet that marks the celebration of Acer sponsoring Olympics 2012.

No official word about the release and shipping date so far. Do you think we have a tough competitor here? Or is this going to be just another gadget getting no wide fame and accolades from the tech-savvy crowds? We would like to hear from you.
