We are offering a position as a Design Manager at ABB Oy, Drives, Solar Inverter unit in Helsinki, Finland. Committed to leading and developing a team of solar inverter HW designers, you will seek solutions that enable increased utilization of nature’s renewable resources in power generation. To foster growth opportunities for the solar energy business, you will support enhancement of the team members’ competence and participate in deciding on technical solutions. In addition, you will collaborate with component suppliers and follow their technology roadmaps. In close cooperation with our experts and subcontractors, you will develop both inhouse and subcontracted HW design, as well as common practices. The scope of your work may change rapidly at times, but you skillfully utilize your team’s expertise to reach the targets. This position provides an opportunity for you to grow into a multi-talented expert in the field of power electronics design and continuously deepen your competence and supervision skills.
We require a M.Sc. or D.Sc. (Tech.) in the fields of power electronics, analog electronics or electric drives. You have several years of experience with electronics devices, design processes, and production methods. You understand the requirements of low-loss, cost-efficient, and highquality electronics design. Experience in factory testing of circuit boards and in leading subcontracted design work is an advantage. You will be working in an international environment, so you communicate fluently in both written and spoken English. Other language skills are an advantage. Interested?
