The Dark Sky Application for Weather Forecasting

The Dark Sky is a new project that is being developed by Adam Grossman and Jack Turner. But it is yet to be promoted because of lack of funds. The project needs sponsorship of around $ 35000 after which it will be all set to fly off the ground level to a place for which it is designed. The dark sky is basically an application for the iPhone and other models for weather prediction.

The Dark Sky is a threatening concept that aims for weather forecasting of a particular area that will be able to figure out what exactly will be happening to the sky above you. The best part about the concept is that it can predict weather conditions that will happen after even an hour. Thus it gives you time to prepare yourself. Moreover the results indicated by the Dark Sky are very accurate. It reveals all the conditions that lead to short - term changes giving exact time details. It could even tell for how long a particular weather condition would last. Thus before leaving for work in the rainy season, you can already know if there is any possibility of rain and thus you can take your belongings with you before hand. Once you start using this software, you just cannot avoid it. The display of the Dark Sky app has a very high resolution.

Coming to the negative aspects of the concept- This application is not a general all time purpose application. It gives no indication of the temperature of a place, the humidity level or the speed of wind prevailing in a particular area. The Dark Sky is not a daily weather forecast system. The app is still under development, improvements and expansion of the concept is under progress. The technology works on radar system which is available through The National Weather Service that operates around 140 doppler radars through out the US.
