Samsung launches Galaxy J3 Pro in India, priced at Rs 8,490

Samsung India, in its latest addition to the J-series, has announced a new budget smartphone the Galaxy J3 Pro, for the Indian market. The smartphone is priced at Rs 8,490 and will be available online exclusively via the Paytm Mall & Paytm App from April 6. The Galaxy J Series is Samsung's largest selling smartphone range in India and it is for the first time that the company is launching an online exclusive product via the Paytm Mall platform.

The Galaxy J3 Pro smartphone is developed at the Samsung's R&D centers in India and as per the company it is ‘Made for India’. The smartphone includes utility features like the Ultra Data Saving (UDS) mode which uses intelligent data compression and restricts background applications resulting in up to 50 percent of data savings. Also, the S bike mode which when activated notifies the caller via a pre-recorded message that the user is riding and they can leave a message. If the call is urgent, the caller can choose to press 1 which then alerts the user to take up the call after stopping the bike.

Talking about the specifications of the Galaxy J3 pro, it measures 142.3 x 71.0 x 7.9mm and features a 5-inch Super AMOLED HD (1280 x 720 pixels) display. The processing duties are handled by a 1.5GHz Quad Core Processor coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of onboard storage which can be further expanded by up to 128GB via a microSD card.

On the optics front, the Galaxy J3 Pro sports an 8-megapixel autofocus rear camera with LED Flash alongside a 5-megapixel shooter for selfies on the other side. Connectivity options include dual-SIM support, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b-g-n, Bluetooth 4.0, USB 2.0 port and GPS/Glonass. The entire package is powered by a 2600mAh battery that runs on Google's Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system.

The Galaxy J3 Pro will come in three different color options- Black, Gold and White and will be sold via the Paytm mall.
