On specifications front, Oppo F5 Youth resembles its#-Link-Snipped-# in almost all aspects. Only the camera features differ between the two. The new device sports a 6-inch LTPS TFT display with a full-HD+ (1080 x 2160 pixels) resolution powered by an octa-core MediaTek MT6763T (Helio P23) SoC. Oppo F5 came in two options of 4GB or 6GB of RAM. It had 32GB of internal memory with the 4GB RAM variant and 64GB of internal memory with the 6GB RAM variant. Oppo F5 Youth on the other hand possesses 3GB of RAM with 32GB of onboard storage that can be expanded via microSD card (up to 256GB). The battery backup remains same for both the devices at 3200 mAh.

Major difference lies in the camera specifications between the sibling devices. While F5 Youth has a 13-megapixel rear camera sensor with an f/2.2 aperture lens and an LED flash with a 16-megapixel front camera (f/2.0 aperture lens); Oppo F5 boasted of a 16-megapixel rear camera sensor with f/1.8 aperture and a 20-megapixel front camera sensor with f/2.0 aperture. Clearly the new device has downgraded specifications compared to its earlier launched counterpart. Similar to F5, it has a rear-facing fingerprint scanner with a Facial Unlock feature that unlocks the screen using one’s face. Connectivity options include- 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, A-GPS, Micro-USB with USB OTG support, and dual-SIM support.
