New Semi-Rugged Laptop In India 'Panasonic CF-54' For Rs. 1.39 Lac

What would you call a laptop that is half an inch thinner and about a kg lighter than its competitors? Well, Panasonic calls it Toughbook 54 and today it has arrived in India. Designed from a magnesium alloy, featuring spill-resistant exterior, the world's lightest and thinnest semi-rugged laptop is a tag given to Panasonic CF-54 laptop that has been launched in India at a price of Rs. 1,39,000. Running on the Windows 8.1 OS, this Toughbook is powered by 2.3GHz Intel Core i5-5300U vPro Processor. The 14 inch HD & FHD display with optional 1000 nit touchscreen is coupled with anti-reflective and anti-glare layer and Intel HD Graphics 5500 support alongside dual monitor facility via HDMI & optional VGA.

On the input front, there's touch, gesture recognition and an optional stylus pen. The Li-ion battery offers 11 hours of on-time. Moreover, Panasonic CF-54 is the only semi-rugged laptop that offers an optional second battery, allowing hot swap battery replacement without the need to shut down or hibernate.

Memory wise, Performance model has 8GB or 16GB SDRAM, whereas the other models offer 4GB, 8GB or 16GB4 SDRAM. This is accompanied by a 500 GB primary HDD.

There are 3 USB ports, SDXC, optional DVD drive, ethernet, optional 2nd LAN (Ethernet), HDMI, optional VGA, optional Serial, optional PC Card, Headphone/Mic and a dock connector.

User's connectivity needs are catered to using Bluetooth, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, dedicated GPS (u-blox) and a contactless SmartCard/NFC reader.

    1.Light weight
    2.rugged
    3.battery
    Cons:
    1.Price
    2.hardisk is HDD
    3.only Intel graphics
    4.RAM is 4gb in some of them
    Doesn't seems worth money
    I am comparing it to Alienware which in this price provides lot more configuration with little weight
