Microsoft's Smartwatch Is Coming & It's Got Heart Rate Tracker Too
Microsoft is working on a smartwatch and it's got a heart rate monitor too. Nothing exciting, right? According to a report published in Exclusive: A Microsoft Smartwatch Is Coming, Microsoft's smart watch will work with variety of mobile platforms and also boast a battery life of about 2 days. Already late to the party, if Microsoft cracks up the smart watch battery life problem, it can expect to capture some of the market share in the wearable devices market ($1.7 billion, estimated) dominated by Samsung and Motorola. Microsoft is said to be aiming the holiday season in the US for their product launch.
Microsoft's engineering talent from the Kinect division is also working on the smart watch and it's expected to work just fine with Windows phones, Androids and the iOS. The name of the device is still a top secret. Features wise, we may not see something radically new in Microsoft's smart watch; because Moto 360 and Samsung's Gear also have the heart rates monitor.
Moto 360
The big problem Microsoft is aiming to address is the poor battery life the wearable gadgets have that require them to be hooked to a power outlet every night. We're just a few days away from the official announcement. Let's see what Microsoft's got. Are you excited?
