Microsoft will be adding new software and capabilities to Office 365 in an attempt to make a "smarter" product to help people interact at work. The major update will be combining the power of cloud, enterprise social, big data and machine learning. It also introduces 'Oslo', a new Office 365 intelligence fabric which keeps constantly analyzing content, interactions and activity streams and uses machine learning to connect and show only the relevant content to the user. Microsoft highlighted these new features in its SharePoint Conference held in Las Vegas, USA.

One of the features of Oslo lets the system automatically sets up groups for you based on the data. These groups will then be integrated with Outlook, where emails can be filtered according to group. Similarly, this integration will be present in the calendar and other parts of Office 365. Every group will have its own Yammer conversation feed, calendar, document library and inbox. Microsoft also brings the power of social collaboration and conversations by offering Inline Social experiences throughout all the parts of Office 365. Users will have the ability to have social conversations inside documents stored in SharePoint Online and OneDrive for Business. Office 365 will now have a video portal which allows users to securely upload, store and find videos. Businesses will be able to categorize videos into channels for business needs and will be able to stream them on mobile devices.

Microsoft will also be launching the Office 365 SDK for Windows 8 and Android. This will make it easier for businesses to pull in data from Office 365 and use it in their own apps. Developers will be allowed to build new and sophisticated apps for the Office 365. The company is also updating its existing Office 365 APIs for PowerPoint and Outlook. This update is surely something unique that Microsoft will be offering. What do you think about the update for Office 365? Do share your suggestions in the comment section below.
