Just like all other smartphones in this price bracket, Micromax Canvas Xpress 4G sticks with same 5-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) resolution IPS panel LCD display but forgot to cover it with any protective glass covering. Underneath the hood things get better with the presence of a MT6735P chipset from MediaTek that is reportedly a MediaTek's MT6735 SoC beats the Snapdragon 410 chipset in benchmark tests - PhoneArena than the slightly expensive Qualcomm Snapdragon Snapdragon 410 chipset that is a staple in many year old mid-range smartphones. On this SoC we find a 64-bit 1.3GHz ARM Cortex-A53 quad-core processor along with 2GB of LPDDR3 RAM and ARM Mali-T720 GPU entrusted with the task of running Android 5.1 (Lollipop).

As compared to its genesis, the Micromax Canvas Xpress 4G does come with slightly lower resolution cameras. We get an 8MP sensor with LED flash on the rear and a 2MP sensor on the front. It goes without saying that the Micromax Canvas Xpress 4G is a dual-SIM smartphone out of which only one is capable of handling LTE. You get 16 GB of onboard storage out of which 12GB is left vacant for the user because Micromax loads it with apps such as App Centre, Amazon Kindle, Scandid, Chaatz, Clean Master, Hike, M! Live and Quikr which might prove hard to uninstall. You get the usual suspects in connectivity options, navigation and sensors. Micromax has powered the Canvas Xpress 4G with a lower capacity 2000mAh battery which means it would struggle to last for a day’s usage. Instead of the usual Black or White the phone is being sold in a Blue colour variant. So is the smartphone worth your money? This time you be the judge.
