Micromax Canvas Pulse 4G: Octa-Core Processor, 3GB RAM & Android Lollipop For Rs. 9,999

Just in time for Christmas, Micromax has delivered its gift in form of a new smartphone that will be sold exclusively on Flipkart. The Micromax Canvas Pulse 4G has gone up on sale at Flipkart for Rs. 9,999 and considering its price this Android Lollipop smartphone equipped with 4G connectivity is delivering a surprisingly powerful package. While other local smartphone manufacturers like Lava or Intex take pride in offering 2GB of RAM on a sub Rs. 10K budget, the Micromax Canvas Pulse 4G ups the RAM figures to 3GB which is a spec often associated with flagships. To compliment this spec, the Micromax Canvas Pulse 4G has been given a MediaTek MT6753 SoC which houses a 64bit ARM Cortex-A53 octa-core CPU operating at 1.5GHz and an ARM Mali-T720 GPU. All this firepower makes sure that you have a smooth Android Lollipop experience on the 5-inch IPS panel display which has an HD (1280 x 720 pixels) resolution.

We should point here is that the CPU on the Micromax Canvas Pulse 4G is a “true Octa-Core” one which means instead of having two clusters of four high-powered cores that switch between themselves depending on use, the ARM Cortex A53 CPU on the Micromax Canvas Pulse 4G has all eight cores operating at the same time. To make sure that you do not run out of juice too soon with this amount of firepower, Micromax sticks in a 2100mAh Li-Polymer battery that will just make it for a day of average use. On the Micromax Canvas Pulse 4G we find 16GB of internal memory out of which 11.23GB remains vacant for the user. You can plug-in a microSD card of your choice provided it’s up to 32GB.

On the photography front, Micromax has stuck a 13MP S5K3L2XX03 sensor made by Samsung on the rear along with a LED flash. On the front we find the industry norm 5MP sensor. The usual connectivity suspects Wi-Fi, microUSB and Bluetooth 4.0 are included along with GPS navigation. The Micromax Canvas Pulse 4G isn’t a dual-LTE standby smartphone because the second SIM slot on this dual-SIM smartphone can support only 3G networks. You never needed two LTE SIMs anyway because chances are you stay in an area where there is one or no 4G operator in action.

The Micromax Canvas Pulse 4G measures 140 x 70 x 8 mm and is being sold in a grey colour variant on Flipkart in a normal sale from today. We think that the Micromax Canvas Pulse 4G is a very good deal but we would like to know what you think of it. Head over to the comment section below and voice your opinions.
