Micromax Canvas Mega 2 Plus has quietly made its way to retail stores

On a day when Micromax has made the headlines with its announcement to make #-Link-Snipped-#, it has also quietly put a new smartphone on sale. The Micromax Canvas Mega 2 made its way to retail stores and will be available for a price of Rs. 7,499. While the company has not put the details of the smartphone on its official website nor released a press release, Mumbai based smartphone retailer Mahesh Telecom has put up images of the smartphone in its retail box on his Facebook page. The highlight of the Micromax Canvas Mega 2 Plus is its 6inch IPS panel display which has a disappointing qHD (960 x 540 pixels) resolution. This means the pixel density is 183ppi which is very low.

The Micromax Canvas Mega 2 runs with the help of a 1.3GHz quad-core processor. Sadly we do know more about the make and model of the chipset. The Micromax Canvas Mega 2 Plus has 2GB of DDR3 RAM and runs Android Marshmallow. The Micromax Canvas Mega 2 Plus has an internal memory of 16GB and you do get a microSD card slot for memory expansion. The Micromax Canvas Mega 2 Plus has an 8MP auto focus camera on the rear with LED flash and a 5MP camera on the front for selfies.

The Micromax Canvas Mega 2 Plus is powered by a 3000mAh battery which will be sufficient to handle the big screen display for a day. The Micromax Canvas Mega 2 Plus supports 4G VoLTE and you get a free Jio SIM with the smartphone. The Micromax Canvas Mega 2 Plus features Wi-Fi, microUSB and Bluetooth connectivity. The Micromax Canvas Mega 2 Plus has gravity, proximity and light sensors.
