Lava Iris 503e Smartphone: Android Jelly Bean On A 1.2 Dual Core Processor For Rs. 6,749

Regional budget smartphone manufacturer Lava as put up its new Android smartphone, the Lava Iris 503e up for sale for Rs. 6,749. The Lava Iris 503e follows the recent launch of the Lava IRIS 503 and IRIS 402 Launched - Specs, Features & Price Unveiled. The Lava Iris 503e boasts of 5-inch (12.7 cm) display which has a FWVGA (854 x 480 pixels) resolution. Underneath the hood, this Dual SIM smartphone has got an unspecified chipset that houses a 1.2 GHz dual-core CPU and 512 MB of RAM that might struggle to run the installed Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) OS. On the photography department, the Lava Iris 503e gives you a 3MP (unconfirmed) LED flash equipped fixed focus sensor on the rear and a 1.3MP secondary camera on the front. We have some confusion about the resolution of the rear camera because the press shots show that it has got a 5MP sensor but the spec sheet lists it as 3MP. When it comes to internal memory, the company has marketed the product on a product with the tagline “Store Them All With 4GB ROM” but we find this statement quite misleading since on the spec sheet it has been mentioned that the user will be left with less than 2GB of storage after the OS installation. Lava Iris 503e comes with Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and USB connectivity but it misses out on 3G which can be the biggest drawback of the device. Lava Iris 503e comes with preloaded games like The Assassins Creed and CricketFever and Social networking apps like Facebook, Twitter and WhatsApp. Apart from the native Google apps the Lava Iris 503e also contains the company’s Lava Care and Lava Zone apps. The smartphone 2000mAh battery is claimed to provide 7 hours of talktime. The smartphone measures 143.2 x 73.3 x 10.45 mm and weighs 175 grams. The smartphone is available in black and white colour variants.


When it comes to budget smartphones from regional manufacturers like Micromaxx, Lava or Karbonn often leave out on some features to keep the costs low, similar tactics have been used by Lava in this phone.
