Karbonn Titanium S99, Intex Aqua N15 and Aqua i14 Offer Android KitKat Experience On A Budget

Regional manufacturers Karbonn Mobiles and Intex have launched three new smartphones that offer Android KitKat experience at affordable prices. Keeping in mind the price of the immensely successful Moto E in mind, both the companies have gone for competitive pricing. The Karbonn Titanium S99 costs Rs. 5990 and the Intex Aqua i14 and Aqua N15 are priced at Rs. 7,090 and Rs 6,090 respectively. So do they manage to be the proverbial Moto E killer, let’s find out in the following paragraphs, starting with the Karbonn Titanium S99.

Karbonn Titanium S99

Karbonn Titanium S99

This budget offering from Karbonn Mobiles runs Android KitKat on an unspecified 1.3GHz quad-core processor and 512MB of RAM. As we discussed earlier, Android latest version manages to run perfectly on devices with low memory. So with the Titanium S99 you can hope to enjoy a smooth OS but multitasking and gaming might cause problems. The dual-SIM enabled smartphone sports a 4-inch IPS panel display with an unknown resolution. On the rear we find a LED flash equipped 5MP sensor and on the front we get a 0.3MP snapper. As expected from any budget device the phone has an internal memory of 4GB and it gives you the option of expanding that storage to up to 32GB with help of microSD cards. The Karbonn Titanium S99 is powered by a 1400mAh battery and is available in black and white colour variants.

Intex Aqua i14

This offering from Intex Technologies sports a relatively larger 5-inch screen with a FWVGA resolution (480x854 pixels). It runs Android 4.4 (KitKat) on an unspecified 1.3GHz quad-core processor with 1GB of RAM. In terms of photography we find a 8MP rear camera with LED flash and on the front we get a 2MP sensor. Just like the Karbonn Titanium S99 you get a 4GB of internal memory and a 32GB microSD card slot to expand that storage. The dual-SIM handset is powered by an 1850mAh battery.

Intex Aqua N15

Just like the aforementioned smartphone it runs Android KitKat on unspecified 1.3GHz quad-core processor and 1GB of RAM. It sports a smaller 4-inch IPS panel display with a FWVGA (480x854 pixels) resolution. On the rear we get the same 8MP rear and 2MP front sensor. Internal memory specs remain the same and at the time of this writing we haven’t got any information about the battery powering this smartphone.

So do these phones offer a substantial competition to the Moto E? We would like you to voice your opinions in the comment section below.

MOTE E become a standard player to beat in the lower segment and MOTO G has set the similar standards in mid segment of smart phones 😁

The phone from Karbonn didn't lure me as with a battery capacity anywhere less than 1500 is a strict NO from me.

Intex Phones are looking to set a clash with MOTO E, but before we cautiously say this we need to know the 'unspecified' processor name as well. If it will be a good one, I would say, one can try out intex phones too.
