Intex Aqua Jewel 2 & Aqua Lions T1 Budget Smartphones With Android Nougat Launched

Intex Technologies, the Indian smartphone company known for churning out new smartphones almost every week is at it again. This time it’s not one of but two smartphones. The two smartphones in question are budget offerings and they go by the name of Aqua Jewel 2 and Aqua Lions T1. The Intex Aqua Jewel 2 costs Rs. 5899 and the Intex Aqua Lions T1 costs Rs. 4,999. Both the smartphones run Android Nougat and you can avail Jio bundled offer where you are guaranteed 5GB additional data for up to 5 recharges of Rs. 399 and above.

The Intex Aqua Jewel 2 is the expensive of the newly launched pair and has a price tag of Rs. 5,899. For your money you are getting a standard 5inch HD resolution display with no protective glass protection. The Intex Aqua Jewel 2 counts too much on its looks and is sold in Champagne and Black colour variants. Inside the Intex Aqua Jewel 2 you can find a Spreadtrum SC9832A chipset that houses a 1.3GHz quad-core processor, a dated Mali 400 GPU and 2GB of RAM. This seems to be a new low for Intex who have ditched MediaTek’s cheap chipsets and gone for the even cheaper and worse ones from Spreadtrum. The internal memory on the Intex Aqua Jewel 2 thankfully stands at 16GB from which around 11GB is free for the user. You can use microSD cards of up to 32GB to expand the storage. The Intex Aqua Jewel 2 has an 8MP auto focus camera on the rear with LED flash and on the front you get a 5MP fixed focus sensor. The Intex Aqua Jewel 2 is powered by a 2500mAh battery which can suffice the smartphone for a 10 to 12 hours standby time.

Next on the dossier we have the Intex Aqua Lions T1 which costs just Rs. 4,999. The Intex Aqua Lions T1 sports a slightly larger 5.2inch FWVGA (854 x 480 pixels) resolution display. We still fail to comprehend Intex’s strategy of increasing the screen size and going for a smaller resolution. This move is totally counter intuitive. The Intex Aqua Lions T1 does have shatterproof glass protection though and you get one time screen replacement warranty for one year. The Intex Aqua Lions T1 is runs Android Nougat with the help of a Spreadtrum SC 9832 chipset that houses a 1.3GHz quad-core CPU and a ridiculously low 1GB of RAM. You get a paltry internal memory of 8GB out of which 4GB remains vacant for the user. You can use microSD cards of up to 64GB to expand the storage. The Intex Aqua Lions T1 has an 8MP auto focus camera on the rear with LED flash and on the front you get a 5MP shooter with flash. The Intex Aqua Lions T1 is powered by a 2700mAh battery that can drag on for about 12 hours on a single charge with modest use.
