Gionee fans who loved it when the company released its flagship Gionee Marathon M5 With Dual Battery Setup Launching On Nov 24 smartphone, have all reasons to rejoice as its younger brother - the Marathon M5 Lite has been officially listed in China. Though there is no official word about the phone's release date in India or other countries, interesting details about the phone have popped up. The first and foremost thing is the gadget's pricing. Priced at CNY 999 (~ Rs. 10,300), the Gionee Marathon M5 Lite may be a good low-budget variant strictly for Gionee fans. It comes wrapped in a metal body in a bright golden colour. Featuring a 5 inch IPS display with 1280 x 720 pixel resolution capacitive touch screen that supports 16M colours and comes with 293 PPI density, the Marathon M5 Lite has one of the best screens in its league.

Powered by Android Lollipop OS layered with Gionee's Amigo 3.0, the smartphone brings the core of 64-bit quad-core MediaTek MT6735 ARM Cortex A53 processor along with ARM Mali T720 graphics GPU.

On the memory & storage front, there is 16 GB ROM and 1 GB RAM. Users can expand the internal memory up to 128 GB via microSD card. On the exterior, the overall thickness of the phone is a mere 8.5 mm and the weight is 182g.

There's an 8 megapixel camera on the rear and a 5 megapixel on the front. The camera comes with CMOS sensor and features LED flash and auto focus support. The specs list that 1080 pixel HD video recording is supported as well.

A gigantic 4000 mAh Lithium-ion battery powers the phone and it offers talk time of up to 40 hours and standby time of up to 39 days. Connectivity is catered to with support for Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi, microUSB and 3.5 mm audio jack.
