Gone are those days of spending a fortune to buy an Apple iPhone, in India. As per the reports of a Kerala-based retailer named, ITNetTelecom on Twitter, Apple authorized offline retailers are selling the 4-inch Apple iPhone SE 16GB model at a lucrative price of Rs 19,999. The 64GB variant is offered at a net price of Rs 25,999.
These prices are a result of an ongoing offer which is applicable only for card holders and not for offline transactions. During the purchase, customers need to pay Rs 24,999 for the iPhone SE 16GB model and Rs 29,999 for the 64GB version and after 90 days of purchase, they will get a cashback of Rs 5,000 in their bank account resulting in an effective price of 19,999 for the 16GB iPhone SE and 24,999 for the 64GB model. The cash back offer was first made available on Friday, and is reportedly valid until March 31 or even be extended if the retailers feel the need to do so. One should note that the cash back is valid for the debit cards issued by these banks: Axis Bank, HDFC Bank, Citibank, HSBC, ICICI Bank, RBL Bank, IndusInd Bank, Kotak, Standard Chartered, Yes Bank and Credit cards from these banks: Axis Bank, Citibank, Standard Chartered, HDFC Bank, SBI HSBC, ICICI Bank, IndusInd Bank, RBL Bank, Kotak, UBI and Yes Bank. Also, only one iPhone SE can be purchased per card under this offer and if you are looking to grab the iPhone SE on EMI using your debit card or credit card, this offer is not for you.
Interestingly, there is no official statement yet from Apple India confirming the aggressive price cuts by its offline distributors. It is understandable that the retailers are eyeing for an additional revenue before the close of this financial year. The iPhone SE is still priced at Rs 39,000 for the 16GB model and Rs 44,000 for the 64GB model on the Apple India's official website.
