Chinese smartphone maker Transsion Holdings set to introduce its Tecno branded smartphones in India

Hong Kong-based smartphone maker Transsion Holdings is all set to introduce its 'Tecno' brand targeting the low and mid-range Android smartphone segment in India. It has announced five new 'Made for India' smartphones bearing the 'i' prefix in their names, the Tecno i3, Tecno i3 Pro, Tecno i5, i5 Pro and the flagship Tecno i7. They are priced reasonably starting at Rs 7,990 for the Tecno i3, Rs 9,990 for the Tecno i3 Pro, Rs 11,490 for the Tecno i5, Tecno i5 Pro at Rs 12,990 and the flagship Tecno i7 at Rs 14,990.
As per the company's Vice President Arif Chowdhury, the company looking to set up local manufacturing and an R&D facility to keep the prices low and be in the competition alongside existing Chinese players.

Coming to the specifications of the Tecno smartphones, the flagship Tecno i7 will boast of a metallic body with 5.5-inch FHD (1080x1920 pixels) IPS display and an anti-oil, all weather fingerprint sensor on the front. Under the good, there will be a 1.5GHz octa-core processor paired with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage with room for further expansion by microSD card.

It will be powered by a decent 4000mAh battery which supports the company's Rocket fast Charging technology which it claims will shorten charging time by up to 20 percent.
On the photography front, the Tecno i7 will feature a massive 16-megapixel front camera sensor. It is accompanied by screen flash as well as the front LED flash and is touted by the company as the 'night selfie camera'. At the back, there is the 13-megapixel camera with a unique quad LED flash module.

The Tecno i3 and Techo i3 Pro smartphones are nearly the same with the Tecno i3 Pro getting an increased 3GB of RAM as compared to the 2GB of the Tecno i3 and the anti-oil, all weather fingerprint sensor on its home button. They pack a 5-inch HD (1280 × 720 pixels) IPS display and comes with 16GB of onboard storage powered by a 3,050mAh battery. For photography, there is an 8-megapixel rear camera and another 8-megapixel front camera.

All the Tecno smartphones will support 4G VoLTE and will run the company's proprietary Android 7.0 Nougat based HiOS custom Android ROM which includes utility features like Smart Split-Screen and more.
The detailed specs of the Tecno i5 and Tecno i5 Pro smartphone are awaited.

The Tecno smartphones will also come with a limited launch offer, the 'Tecno 151 Promise' which will entitle the customer to claim a 100-day replacement guarantee, 50 percent buyback and a one-time screen replacement valid for 1-year.
