Bid Goodbye To Your Yahoo Mail If You Haven't Logged In Since A Year
The message is very simple, Yahoo isn't interested in being the alternate recovery mail ID you only log in to, well, recover your passwords for other mail accounts. And if you don't forget your passwords fairly regularly (unlike me), then Yahoo might just kill your Zombie account. The company has decided to reset email accounts that have been inactive for at least 12 months and issue them to new users. The dormant email IDs, which must exist in heaps I'm sure, are to be freed in order to provide new incoming users a more favorable chance at better, shorter IDs. When I made my Yahoo mail ID, it was quite at its prime and I had to settle for a combination of a random dictionary word and my birth year. Yahoo aims to allow its news users to have the opportunity to sign up for “the Yahoo! ID they have always wanted.†Mid-July is when users will get to apply for IDs of their choice and they will be notified by Mid-August of the ID's availability.
If you're a returning user and you're reading this post, you obviously get to keep your ID (and that snigger). Meanwhile if you're an inactive user, you still have a chance to redeem yourself and retain your Yahoo Mail. Follow the simple steps. Step 1: Log on to any Yahoo! product before July 15th. Step 2: ????? Step 3: Profit! You get to keep your ID. Although, in future such accounts will remain active only if they are signed in to at least once every 12 months. So, there's that commitment clause.
Just a gentle reminder, Yahoo also offers Flickr, weather, search and tailored content like sports news from your favorite teams. If you're duly motivated, log in and save your alternate ID from annihilation.

Kaustubh KatdareI remember when having a Yahoo email ID was a cool thing. Then came Gmail and I was one of the first ones to get early access - and I'm on it since then. Now, Microsoft's Outlook is luring me like mad. Gmail's interface should learn a thing or two from Outlook's.
Oh yeah, is there any such deadline on Outlook's accounts? -
Ashraf HZI once jumped on the Yahoo Mail bandwagon when the UK version offered a whooping 6MB of space, the largest at the time 😀 YM Messenger was also a big thing.

Anoop MathewI've used MSN Messenger more than Yahoo. Yahoo has given me a lot of nightmares, and I definitely wouldn't want to get back to it. My first e-mail ID was at yahoo.com, oh yeah!😨 And then I quickly adopted to Hotmail. I've been using hotmail ever since, and now MSN Messenger have merged with Skype, so gets even better 😛
And yeah, as Biggie says, Gmail's got to learn from Outlook (aka New Hotmail 👍)

CE group on Watsapp can get people connected, but it's just like a shout box. Someone who steps in the middle of the conversation wouldn't know where to begin. Moreover the watsapp group members are limited to 50. I have created a group for my school mates and it's quite fun!Kaustubh KatdareO oh! Negative point is that you can have only one group admin on watsapp. That particular group admin should also have contact numbers of all other participants and add them to the group. Members can relieve themselves from the group whenever they want, but group admin can add them back later on (unless they have not blocked him from doing so).ashWho runs the CE Group on Whatsapp by the way?
Getting back to the topic. Why would Yahoo want to get back into business? The Yahoo Messenger doesn't feature a multi user realtime chat option which would really be useful to companies. Skype does that perfectly. What has Yahoo got left that could click? -
