At Rs. 888 Is The Docoss X1 Another Freedom 251 In The Making?

Today, anyone with an internet connection was scrambling to get a website to open on their browsers. The website in question was docoss[dot]com. The media was quick to spread the news that Docoss, Jaipur, Rajasthan-based start-up was offering their first Android smartphone for just Rs. 888. If you think that the price tag is alluring, wait till you have a look at the features of the Docoss X1 smartphone. The makers claim that they are offering the Docoss X1 with a 4-inch IPS panel display without mentioning the resolution of the display. Underneath the hood, they are supplying the Docoss X1 with “1.2GHz, Dual-Core Cortex A74G LTE”. You might get confused by the spec mentioned but trust us it is exactly written on the website (you can check the screenshot for confirmation below). We think that the company is providing a 1.2GHz, Dual-Core Cortex A7 processor with 1GB of RAM and we are sure that there is no 4G connectivity as they specifically say that the smartphone has a dual –SIM slot one of which accepts 3G SIM cards.

Unlike the mythical World's Cheapest Smartphone At Rs. 251 - Freedom 251 Touted To Ring Bells of Revolution, the Docoss X1 has a 2MP rear camera and a 0.3MP front camera. The Docoss X1 is powered by a 1300mAh battery that won’t be enough to last for half a day. The smartphone runs the rather dated Android 4.4.2 (KitKat) and has an internal memory of 4GB. You can of course use microSD cards of up to 32GB to expand that storage. The Docoss X1 is being sold on the company website for Rs. 888. The sale will go on up to 29th of April and the company promises to deliver the product to you starting from 2nd May. This is a smaller waiting period as compared to Freedom 251’s June deadline. You can also register for the Docoss X1 by sending a text with your name, address, city, postal code to 7666204430 or 9616003322.

Our Experience:

We of course started with the #-Link-Snipped-# website. The website appeared offline as it threw a CloudFlare warning about the same. After repeated attempts to get a live version on various browsers, we finally were able to get on the website. When we got to the page where we were supposed to book the phone the ‘Book Now’ button would not work. We tried different browsers and different connections but in vain. We even tried to register via text message but the message was not delivered to either numbers. If you do manage to get through, let us know in the comments section below.
