Streaming is gaining ground in India thanks to cheaper and faster mobile internet. Last week Airtel launched its Internet TV hybrid set-top box and this week it the turn of Amazon. Amazon has launched the Fire TV Stick in India. The Amazon Fire TV Stick has been priced at Rs. 3999. The Amazon Fire TV Stick allows you to access streaming content from various services including the in-house Amazon Prime Video, Hotstar, Netflix, YouTube, Eros Now and Gaana. Just like Google Chromecast 2 which is coincidentally Flipkart exclusive you can mirror your smartphone’s display on your HDTV. Just like Google Chromecast you need additional power input to fire up the Amazon Fire TV Stick which is plugged into the HDMI port of your TV. You need it to connect it to Wi-Fi which Amazon says should carry over 4MBps for best experience.

Unlike the Google Chromecast the Amazon Fire TV Stick comes with its own remote that also supports voice search which makes it much easier to search for content on services like Prime Video. With all the streaming services on Amazon Fire TV Stick you can access countless hours of Bollywood movies, Hollywood movies, TV shows both Indian and American.

If you buy the Amazon Fire TV Stick now you can get a ton of free offers. If you are an Amazon Prime customer you get Rs. 499 back in your Amazon Prime account so that you can renew your Amazon Prime subscription for another year. If you are an Airtel broadband or 4G Home device user you can get 100GB of free data for 3 months. If you are a You Broadband customer you get 240GB of data that lasts over 3 months. You also get Eros Now subscription for three months and Gaana+ subscription for 6 months.
