With the launch of its flagship device- Idol 4, Alcatel has marked its entry into the VR arena. The device priced at Rs. 16,999 features a VR headset that allows users to get an immersive experience using the smartphone's display. The device also packs JBL earphones in the box. Its USP the "Boom Key" offers custom-made features to take photos, play music and generate effects in videos, boomifying everything from the sound to photos to gaming, quoted Praveen Valecha, Regional Director, Alcatel India.
On specifications front, it includes a 5.2-inch full-HD (1080 x 1920 pixels) IPS LTPS display. The Idol 4 is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor coupled with Adreno 405 GPU and 3 GB RAM. It further comes with 16 GB of built-in storage, expandable (up to 512 GB) via microSD card. The photography provisions include a 13-megapixel rear camera with touch focus and dual-LED flash and an 8-megapixel front shooter. The device also comprises of a real-time face beautification feature.
Powered by a battery of 2610 mAh, it houses support for Quick Charge version 2.0. The connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, USB OTG, and a 3.5 mm headphone jack. The device also comes with VR goggles to give users a virtual reality experience. Exclusively retailing on Flipkart Alcatel Idol 4 will be offered in Dark Grey, Metal Silver, and Gold colour variants.
