Alcatel Pixi 4 with 6.0-inch screen, 4G VoLTE, 8MP camera launched at Rs 9,100

Alcatel has added a new smartphone to its portfolio with the launch of the Alcatel Pixi 4 at Rs 9,100. Featuring a large 6-inch screen and 4G VoLTE support, Alcatel is betting on the growth of phablets in India given the current scenario of affordability of data packages and increased demand for viewing video contents by the users on their smartphones. The company has recently partnered with Advanced Computers for offline distribution of its smartphones thus aiming to reach more customer base in the growing Indian market.

Coming to the specifications, the Alcatel Pixi 4 Phablet flaunts a 6-inch HD (720x1280 pixels) IPS display supporting 5 points multi-touch and offering a color depth of 16M. Processing duties are handled by the 1.1Ghz Quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 SoC, coupled with 1.5GB of RAM and 16GB of inbuilt storage with room for further storage expansion by up to 64GB using a microSD card. The Alcatel Pixi 4 Phablet measures 165x83.8x8.35mm and weigh 186 grams.

On the photography department, the Alcatel Pixi 4 is equipped with an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera sensor for selfies and video chats. Both the cameras are accompanied by a LED flash to assist them in low lit conditions. Alcatel has also loaded the Pixi 4 with its Polaroid software that allows its users to create attractive photo collages, add artistic effects, borders, texts and then share them easily with friends and family.

For connectivity, the Alcatel Pixi 4 Phablet gets 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct, GPS/ A-GPS, Bluetooth v4.1, Micro-USB port, FM Radio and 3.5mm audio jack.
Onboard sensors include an ambient light sensor, accelerometer, digital compass and the proximity sensor.

The Alcatel Pixi 4 runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow and gets all of its juice from the 2580mAh non-removable battery which should keep the phablet going for a day on a single charge.
