Indian Businessman Buys Terrafugia Transition - First Flying Car In India

NRG businessman Shubhash Shihora became the first to buy a flying car in India. The businessman bought a flying car named transition from a company named Terrafugia which is a US based company and deals with manufacturing of aircrafts.

Now, the interesting thing to know is that this has got a somewhat funny story behind it. The#-Link-Snipped-# story goes like, way back in the year 2008, Shihora along with his family were to fly from Delhi to Ahmadabad. Even though they had seats reserved in the very same flight, they were restrained from boarding the airplane due to some technical discrepancies. It’s noteworthy that Mr. Shihora is a major shareholder of a giant Rs. 2 Lac crore US based consultancy firm.  Being a businessman, he might have suffered a heavy financial loss for not being able to reach in time. They also say that the businessman later sued the airline company for Rs. 21 Crore. Then he decided to get a permanent aid against such problems. And this is what led him to buy the first flying car in India.

The flying car is really amazing with a maximum speed of 185 (kmph) in air and 105 (kmph) on road with a fuel efficiency of 35 (miles per gallon) and a range of almost 787 (kms). In addition, the vehicle provides a sufficient safety which includes full vehicle parachute, safety care, crumple zone and more similar things. The most significant feature of the car is that it can fold its winds to reduce its horizontal span. This feature is of utmost importance if you expect it to run on roads just like a normal car. The vehicle is a rear wheel drive on the road and has an automotive style doors.

Even after doing much to save time and unnecessary inconvenience, the problems for him does not seem to find an end. The vehicle does not need a hanger for parking and Shihora wishes to park his vehicle in his farmhouse yard. Now, getting permission from the security and aviation agencies has become another menace for him. Though the man is a respectable person and we may hope that he doesn’t have to face too much to get things done. The car will be delivered to him in the next year. Just a year to go and people from Ahmadabad or Delhi or even Mumbai may actually get to see a car that can fly in air as easily as it can run on the road.
