What are the limits to human-robot interaction?

Right now, I believe the limits in social robots to be in software intelligence. Currently, a difficult problem is emotional recognition. It is a non-trivial problem for a robot to interpret the emotional state of a person. Even for people, let alone robots, things like sarcasm are sometimes hard to detect. I guess a more philosophical question, in regards to limits, is if a robot could ever really love.
What you think please let me Know on comment !!!

I too agree that the biggest barrier between Human-Robot Interaction is Emotional Intelligence. Its hard for an ordinary robot to tell whats going inside a persons mind which can only be detected if the robot is familiar with identifying facial expressions, body language, and understanding the frequency of human speech. Its obvious that a robot which can only use pre-programmed functions means it can only come up with the thoughts it was programmed with can't understand if a person twists its words which was clear with your example of sarcasm. So its better to initially work on these major factors so that the humans and robots can work together in many fields to make life much easier.
