How to make use of E-Waste ?

We know that making use of old things are not something we are good at, whenever we find a single fault in any of our electronic devices we try to get a new one without any second thoughts. There are many reasons why we want to get rid of old things, the first might be because we might have got bored using the same thing again and again, in second case we may think that there are other new technologies coming in market with better features then this one then why not buy that one. So when I say e-waste I mean any electronic waste including CRT televisions, mobile phones, exhausted batteries and of course robot parts comes under this as well.

Lets take a look at some of the points through which we can minimize it :

  1. First of all if your equipment is getting old don't throw it away, its not like it had stopped working. You can buy some new parts from market to upgrade it yourself or ask someone else to do it. This way you don't have to go all the way to buy a new one, not to mention if you are upgrading the device yourself, then you can add features the way you want to.
  2. Sometimes when you end up with a lot of gadgets you decide to throw the ones which you think won't be of any use to you. Instead of throwing, why not sell or swap it with another gadget. This way your old gadget may come to any use to some other person or you might end up with some money which you could use to buy something new.
  3. What if we don't have the luxury of the above two option, is there no choice but to dispose of the old gadgets? Well there is no need for that, all you could do now is to donate it to someone close. Its true that this way you won't gain anything, but at the very least you'll be able to help someone who was in dire need of those things.
