Can robots like WALL-E exist in the future ?

WALL-E stands for Waste Allocation Load Lifter: Earth-Class. It was a science fiction movie released in 2008 by Pixar animation. The story followed the life of a trash compactor robot whose job was to clean up the trash from planet earth which was around 800-900 years older from now. If you have seen the movie, you must have noticed how amazing Wall E was, even though there was no one to command him to survive, he still looked for parts from his fellow units in order to survive. The robots we are capable to build with the technical knowledge we have now can't even come close to him because of the level of its capabilities. He had a great extent of understanding things and situation and it acted depending on the most suitable option, he could feel love and affection... not to mention he could also feel empathetic towards other living beings. Well it seems pretty impossible to build a robot like him anytime sooner, but we can't ignore the possibility that we might see him roaming around in the future.
