SEO day 5 : Big picture & Overview on how Google Ranks Pages

1.Google figured out that the  authority of your page  can be estimated by the links your website has .The links that are coming into your website. So google decided the page rank of your website by analyzing the links that come to your website .That is the core of google's algorithm . At least many years ago .Now , it's more complicated and sophisticated .

2.Basically ,it meant that if you have a website and it has 4 million links it has more authority .And if a website has 100 links it has less authority . Then quality of links also comes in question .And so forth and so forth .

3.Search Engine Optimization   is long term  .You need to continuously improve your website  and you also will not get instant results .This is because the search engines keep on evolving and improving their algorithms and the way they rank pages keep on changing . If you need instant results you probably should invest in ads like google ads or facebook ads ,something like that .

4.Content is the most important thing. If you are site is like less than 5-6 pages  , google will not like it .It will say like .."what is this ..there nothing here "  . Also the content shouldn't be gibberish .It should be of real value to people .It should be useful . For example, try to have a Blog of your website and try to update it regularly and there also put links to your website . Create videos of the services your website is offering and upload it on youtube as well as on your site . Share free knowledge that can be useful to people like post reviews of products . Anything that interests people or as well anything that interests you ,like something that you yourself go and search on the web like some electronics product review , some restaurant reviews .Make sure your content is in-depth and comprehensive , not short .

5.Have lots of Back links (links incoming to your website ) . How , create contents that people want to talk about . Use  OpenSite Explorer tool to analyze your  links .Also you can analyze links of a popular website and see where he is getting his links from and use this business intelligence to build links for your website.

6.Use google AdWords keywords planner to choose the right keywords for your site as well as the right topics for your blogs .Suppose you are selling phones and waterproof smartphones are trending and also low in competition ,you can write a article or a blog post on that topic ,posting in both your website as well as your blog post .

7.Share your website links on social media and everywhere worth sharing , like in a way that is useful and valuable to the people viewing it .Don't keep on sharing it like annoyingly  , have grace . Like  1 or 2 links daily so real value and interest and use to your website or blog or article in your website or a video that you uploaded on your YouTube and in turn contains links to your website and links .You get it link it all together .

8.Use the tags properly, be  it title tag ,meta tag ..

9.Analyze results  -how your website and how  links are doing using google webmaster tools and google analytics .

As per my knowledge, every external domain will beneficial for our own domain level ranking after that it will be beneficial for page level ranking.

Use google AdWords keywords planner to choose the right keywords for your site as well as the right topics for your blogs .Suppose you are selling phones and waterproof smartphones are trending and also low in competition ,you can write a article or a blog post on that topic ,posting in both your website as well as your blog post .

The paid tool only give us the best result and its too costly for the small business owner, In that case, we don't do anything, So we can move on those tools who are not perfect because 70% traffic organically came from Google. but the free tools also give you the assumable data. So According to me, may I am wrong but every time we need not follow google's algo, we also need to check what our competitor is doing right now?

Competitor Analysis is the key to get success.
