What made Slack so popular?
I sometimes wonder what made Slack so popular in such a short time? Because it makes no sense at all! First of all -- there's nothing 'new' as such in the product. The team-chat software has existed for long in the form of Skype and numerous messengers. Slack doesn't innovate on the communications part.
What slack does do pretty well is that it markets the product as 'end of email' and 'all your communication in one place'.
I wonder what made people adopt Slack. Could you share your reason for switching over to Slack from Skype and maybe other software that you were using?
PS: Microsoft has offered a team messenger for long time.
