ViewPad 7x: Finally, HoneyComb Is Compatible With 7-Inch Tablets

After a long wait, tablet users who want the Android super engine, HoneyComb available in 7-inch displays have a product available on the shelves. Viewsonic, who made the heads turn by their innovative packages in computing, consumer electronics, and communication#-Link-Snipped-# solutions, are expected to officially launch ViewPad 7x – the 7-inch HoneyComb tablet. The first official appearance of the dual core NVIDIA processor enabled tablet will be one of the most awaited news at #-Link-Snipped-#. The tablet can be seen by the visitors at the exhibition stall of Viewsonic (Booth L0832, 4th floor, Nangang Exhibition Hall) from 31 May to 4 June.

The company seems to come up with a product that synchronizes the 7-inch display and HoneyComb version of the Android OS successfully. The HoneyComb was initially made for 10-inch displays and suffered from various compatibility errors with tablets having smaller displays. This meant there was not a single Android 3.0 tablet running in any 7 inches. Therefore, if you had to buy a 7-inch tablet with Honeycomb, you had no choice to go for a 10-inch tablet or be satisfied with lower versions of Android OS. The launch of ViewPad 7x is going to change the tablet market scenario with other tablet manufactures hell bent on bringing out their tablets with the Honeycomb enabled 7-inch versions.

The tablet promises to impress with its high quality capacitive, 10-point multitouch display. Equipped with the fastest ever HSPA+, the internet browsing experience is going to be hassle free. The newer version may add a weight to your bag: ViewPad 7x weighs 380g (ViewPad 7 is 363g). Provision of HDMI port, DLNA support and SRW TruMedia promise to fulfill the company’s claims that the device will be a great multimedia device with a high quality package.

Viewsonic is all geared up and has put up a great show at the Computex 2011, Taipei. Other products on display include:

[*]ViewPad 10Pro: World’s first dual OS (Windows 7 Professional and Android) tablet. The  tablet is also unique in the sense that there is no need to turn off the tablet to switch between the two operating systems. It also has the most recent Intel Oak Trail processor.
[*]V3D245wm-LED monitor: A 24” smart monitor with built in 3D emitter, 20,000,000:1 maximum contrast ratio, Ultrafast 2ms response time, 16:9 widescreen, Full HD 1080P, and scanning rate at 120Hz.
[*]PLED-W200 Projector: World's first WXGA Pico projector.
