### Yamaha YZF-R1:

Basically built by using YZR-M1 MotoGP technology, the YZF-R1 houses 998cc liquid-cooled, 4-cylinder, 4-valve engine producing power of 200 PS (147.1 kW) @ 13,500 rpm without ram air pressurisation.

The new super-bike engine features high compression 13:1 cylinder head. It has a pent roof combustion chamber with sizeable diameter intake and exhaust valves.

Due to M1-derived cross-plane technology, R1 delivers powerful linear torque of 112.4 Nm (11.5 kg-m) @ 11,500 rpm with exceptionally good traction. For instantaneous response, the company has also provided titanium con rods and forged aluminium pistons.

With TCI (digital) ignition system, R1 has 6-axis inertial measurement unit (IMU) for sensing chassis 3D motion, slides, front wheel lift, creating controllability over traction, braking and launches of the vehicle.

On the exterior, the 199 kg bike with aluminium Deltabox frame features an extended upward-truss type swingarm and magnesium rear frame for handling the vehicle on track.

In addition to the list, there is also a short 1,405 mm wheelbase chassis. The vehicle measures 2,055mm in length, 690mm in width, and 1,150 mm in height. It has fuel tank capacity of 17 litres and oil tank capacity of 3.9 litres.

## Yamaha YZF-R1M:

According to Yamaha, YZF-R1M is a better version of YZF-R1 with higher factory specification so that any racer or track rider can discover its true potential. It is also powered by 998cc crossplane 4 cylinder 4-valve engine that delivers torque of 112.4 Nm (11.5 kg-m) @ 11,500 rpm and power of 147.1 kW (200 PS) @ 13,500 rpm. Due to ram air effect, the engine is capable of producing more power. Here, the 6-axis IMU also provides data Electronic Racing Suspension (ERS) so that it can enable its Suspension Control Unit (SCU) for making adjustments to the fork and shock settings. This helps in improving the control and also increase traction while exiting corners. Like R1, R1M also uses high compression 13:1 cylinder head.

For recording large running data such as lap times, speed, throttle position, GPS tracking, lean angle, et al by riders, the Communication Control Unit (CCU) of super-bike comes with a data logging function.

While viewing, downloading or changing the running modes, CCU is also used for communicating with the Yamaha Ride Control (YRC) system.

The variant has same fuel and oil tank capacity that of R1. Coming to the looks department, R1M with carbon bodywork has dimensions of 2,055 mm x 690 mm x 1,150 mm and its seat height is 860 mm (5 mm more than R1). It weighs 200 kg (including full oil and fuel tank) and has wheelbase of 1,405 mm.
