Regional manufacturer XOLO has put up its newest Android KitKat offering, the Q1011 up for sale exclusively on Amazon (India). The smartphone takes pride in its ability to run the latest version of Android in a slim body and offer “outstanding” battery life. So let’s see if the company’s claims are on track. The XOLO Q1011 sports a 5-inch IPS panel display that has a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels (HD). Now this is good, because unlike other manufacturers who force a FWVGA resolution on a 5-inch screen on the XOLO Q1011 you get pixel per inch figure of 294ppi. Just as previous XOLO models it also employs One Glass Solution screen technology which makes for an extra sensitive touchscreen display.
The company has opted for a Mediatek 6582 chipset that houses a 1.3GHz quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM and a rather dated 500 MHz Mali 400 - MP2 GPU. All this seems quite sufficient to run Android KitKat and allow room for multi-tasking. On the rear we find backlight illumined a 8MP sensor that is also able to record Full HD videos. The phone provides 3G, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi and microUSB connectivity. The 4GB internal memory remains a concern in a smartphone which costs almost Rs. 10K but you get the standard microSD card slot that can gobble up cards of up to 32GB.
For a phone this size it’s nice to see a 2250mAh battery that is claimed to last for 550hours on standby and offer 26 hours of talk time. The phone went up on sale at Amazon and as an introductory offer it is chucking in 16GB Toshiba microSD card and a Liverpool FC football.
