Xiaomi’s 5th Anniversary Event Brought New Mi Products To Light

After basking in the glory of its remarkable success in just few years, the Chinese tech giant, Xiaomi will be celebrating its 5th birthday on 6th April, this year. The company's sales revenue has made a huge leap from 570 million RMB to 74.3 billion RMB (2011 to 2014). Ahead of the anniversary, Xiaomi wanted to surprise its fans by launching a line of new products. And today, Lei Jun, CEO of Xiaomi, has unveiled a bunch of smart and affordable devices such as Redmi 2A, Mi Note (Pink Edition), 55-inch 4K Ultra HD Mi TV 2, Mi Smart Scale and Mi Smart Power Strip at the launch event. Let’s have a detailed look at the features and specifications one by one.

Redmi 2A:

The new budget smartphone is basically the lite version of Xiaomi Redmi 2 Price In India Could Be Revealed Soon - India Launch Expected with a price tag of RMB 599 ($96). Powered by 1.5 GHz Leadcore’s LC1860C quad-core Cortex A7 processor, Redmi 2A comes with Mali T628MP2 GPU. The original Redmi 2 with 1 GB RAM on the other hand is RMB 100 more than the latest handset. Redmi 2 smartphone encloses 1.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor and Adreno 306 GPU.

Moreover, Redmi 2A features 4.7 inch IPS display and has 4G LTE connectivity. It is backed by 2,200 mAh battery. On memory front, 1 GB of DDR3 RAM is paired with 8 GB of internal storage.

Mi Note (Pink Edition):

After launching limited edition of bamboo version of 4G dual-SIM Xiaomi Mi Note and Note Pro : Features, Specs and Price Announced, today Xiaomi introduced pink version of Mi Note especially for women. The company has launched such kind of smartphone by mentioning that it is a gorgeous hue to satisfy the passion for pink. The features are almost same that of original Mi Note. However, the pink variant will come with only 16 GB ROM and 5000 mAh Mi Power Bank for free.

Priced at 2,499 RMB ($403), the pink edition has 5.7-inch full-HD display that is protected by Gorilla Glass 3. Mi Note’s Snapdragon 801 SoC processor is coupled with 3 GB RAM and 16 GB flash memory. It packs 3,000mAh battery. Coming to camera, there is 13 MP rear camera with OIS and 4 MP front camera.

55-inch Mi TV 2:

A little over a week ago Xiaomi launched #-Link-Snipped-#(1080p display) variant of 49-inch Mi TV 2 (4K display). And, now the company is back to 4K display by announcing the launch of 55-inch 4K Ultra HD Mi TV 2 that boasts Samsung HD 4K (3840 x 2160) panel. The new model is slightly slim (15.2 mm) as compared to 49-inch Mi TV 2 that has thickness of 15.5 mm. This ultra-thin frame comes along with 6 mm bezel.

Under the hood, the successor sports MStar 6A928 (1.4GHz quad-core Cortex A17) processor, Mali 760 MP4 GPU, 2 GB RAM and 8 GB flash memory. It comes with wireless 8-speaker soundbar and new aluminum subwoofer. The 55-inch variant will be available in the market at 4,999 RMB ($806).

Mi Smart Scale:

Xiaomi indicated through teasers that it may launch a weighing machine and it did by introducing Mi Smart Scale to the audience and the media. This elegant, white in colour device is used for tracking the weight of the users. It can even detect slight change of weight if the user weighs after drinking a bottle of water.

Priced at RMB 99, the device can track and manage the weight of a family (up to 16 people) by connecting it to Mi Fit app.

Mi Smart Power Strip:

Next in line is a power strip, not a regular but a smart one that encloses 3 power sockets, 3 USB ports along with 2.1 A fast charging port for addressing the needs of the users under different circumstances. Priced at RMB 49, the ultra-portable power strip is of the same size that of a pencil box and is white in colour. It also features phosphor bronze terminal, copper bar connectivity system and power indicator light.
