WordPress App For Android Updated to Version 2.4, New Push Notification Options

Wordpress App update for Android is a definite improvement over the previous edition. Version 2.4 has facilitated reader interactions for users who have a WordPress blog and use it on-the-go. With this update WordPress has come up with new push notification options, which is the highlight among many other enhancements. WordPress has applied Google's Cloud-to-device messaging service to push notifications of comments on post, likes, and other stats right to your device. Among other changes a new menu icon has been added to the app. For easier access Settings and Sign Out options have been added to the overflow menu. The all new notifications features includes viewing new comments, followers and stat highlights. The push notifications help you keep up with the site irrespective of where you are. New Permissions is required to make use of the Google Cloud Messaging service for notifications.

It is to be noted that the notifications require a WordPress.com or Jetpack enabled site. Also, the sidebar navigation has also been improved a bit and is appreciated by the WordPress community for its ease-of-use. Blog away!
