WhatsApp Voice Calling Feature Images Leaked; Might Arrive Soon Enough

After the recent rumours about launching WhatsApp for desktop this month, the company is now in the news for its VoIP feature. The company had announced in February, 2014 that it was mulling over the voice calling feature for its users. At a conference in October this year, WhatsApp CEO had said that the service has been delayed until early 2015. And if we go by the report and screenshots leaked by Android World, the voice calling feature might be around the corner and will be released very soon.

A website Android World has published the screenshots of a build of WhatsApp that offers voice calling features. WhatsApp has two versions: one on the Play Store and other on the company’s official website. Although WhatsApp has not confirmed anything about the feature and nothing can be said about the originality of the screenshots, but one can make out that there will be different screens for call logs, ongoing calls and making a voice call to WhatsApp contacts. According to one of the screenshots, in the conversations itself you will be able to see when you called someone or when you have a missed call. This is just as similar as sending and receiving messages or pictures. It is also possible that the recording and reject button might go together on the bottom of the screen. Finally, it can be said that the build is currently being used by testers and will be added in the official build when it is finally announced.

Once the VoIP feature is included, WhatsApp will fight with the likes of WeChat, Viber and Hangouts and aim to increase its user base. While there is no news on the official launch of this feature, one can expect WhatsApp to show its calling capabilities very soon. Let us know your views on this new feature.
