Videocon A42 Specs Reveal 4.5 Inch Jelly Bean Smartphone - Price In India Is Rs. 7490

Videocon, one of India's popular brands, has launched a new smartphone called the Videocon A42. The latest Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS running smartphone isn't yet out on online retailer websites, but we have got the details of its tech specs and pricing. Videocon A42 features a 4.5-inch FWVGA Capacitive Multi touch display with a resolution of 480 x 854 pixels. The processor on which this phone runs is a dual core processor clocked at 1.2GHz. The phone derives its power from a 1,700mAh Battery and for connectivity users can tend to GSM/GPRS/EDGE: 900/1800MHz, UMTS/WCDMA/HSPA: 2100MHz. There's of course the support for Bluetooth 4.0 with A2DP support and a Micro USB slot.

Taking a peek at the camera, we see a 5 megapixel rear one that features a LED flash to take beautiful photographs as well as videos and a 1.3 megapixel front webcam that will let you participate in live video conferences. For memory, alongside 512 MB of RAM, users get access to 4GB inbuilt storage capacity that is expandable up to 32GB via microSD card slot. With all that packed inside, the phone's dimensions are 134 x 68.2 x 11 mm. Those who love music, can note that the phone supports all popular audio and video formats including MP3, AAC, MPEG4, H.263, H.264 and 3GP. There's a 3.5 mm audio jack and users will be able to listen to FM Radio and also do the recording.

Available in two colors - black and white chrome, the phone features the Dual SIM and Dual Standby mode. Now-a-days, it goes without saying that all the phones feature a G sensor, Ambient Light sensor & Proximity Sensor. Those who look at preloaded apps while buying phones, will find Fun Zone, V Store, Hungama, Google Apps as they boot up the phone.

    Again?? Does everyone has to make a smart phone these days? It has nothing attrative than other companies launching them. I wonder how will the people choose which one to buy. If you go into the market today and ask for a smartphone around 8k, he will give you 100 models to choose from.

    Other than RAM I dont see a negative criteria in the specifications.Looks are elegant which resembles Nokia 5233 .

    There are no negative points for this phone. The main issue is its just a copy of some other phones we recently saw in the past week posted here itself. You see Iball or intex or xyz more companies, they are making same phones all over. Trying to capture the lower middle class consumer market. But so many options..
