Use Tweet Fit To Count Your Curls

Body builders rejoice! You can keep your friends updated with your latest exercise regime by using this state of art gadget. The brainchild of Fraser Spowart, this 0.5 kg device can be fitted to the dumbbell and directly tweets the count of your curls.  Tweet_Fit gives the user option to operate the device in two modes: Online and Offline. The device is just not a counting gadget but doubles up as a personal trainer. When you are not sure of the perfect method for the bicep curl, keep the device in offline mode. It will help you master the curls in a jiffy. When you are sure that you have had enough of the training, switch the device to online mode.

#-Link-Snipped-#As soon as you come in online mode and start exercising, your twitter feed gets updated indicating that you are now at work! But what if on one fine morning, you start the exercise and after reaching to 100 bicep curls, you see that your twitter feed did not receive the message? What on earth will now convince your girlfriend that you really did your curls in the morning? Mr. Spowart must have given a good thought to it. The Tweet_Fit comes with two indicating lights. The green light indicates the start of your exercise regime. So you just have to ensure that the green light is blinking when you pick up the dumbbell and the twitter feed gets updated. Another light, red, is provided to indicate that one set of curl has been completed. The user gets to know that a second tweet has been sent when the red light glows.

Fraser Spowart is currently in 4th year studying Product Design at the University of Dundee. He has designed Tweet_Fit as his 4th year project and describes it in one sentence as: "How digital technology can support and enhance personal fitness and wellbeing"

Tweet_Fit may be termed as a spinoff of some crazy idea but it can prove useful in many ways. The trainers can monitor the exercise regimes of their clients without being physically present. Or else you can just try to show off your stamina to your friends by attaching the device to your dumbbell. But can it replace the human trainers? The answer seems crawling closer to NO. Even if the device is fitted with an instruction manual, how does one undermine the importance of the trainer who watches you closely in the gym and advises each individual according to one’s personal physique? The device can be more interesting after some additions. For now, keep sweating… Or tweeting?
So what is your latest curl count? 50? 100? Someone is counting…
