Twitter Ends Support For Windows TweetDeck App, Changes TweetDeck Login

On the occasion of turning 10, it seems that Twitter has decided to bring some changes in the way it works. The first of its change is that on 15th April, Twitter will end the support for its TweetDeck desktop app for Windows environment.

In very brief, TweetDeck is the social media dashboard application, useful especially if you have multiple Twitter accounts and wish to use them all. Now, Twitter provides TweetDeck in three forms – a desktop app, web app and a Chrome app. And from 15th April it is ending the support for its Windows desktop app.

Twitter has specified the reason for this move in its blog post, but it all seems too vague. According to Twitter, they are stopping the support for Windows app in order to ‘focus on enhancing’ the user experience of TweetDeck. Wonder if it is actually the real reason. Nonetheless, if you are a Windows TweetDeck user, you will need to shift to the web or the Chrome application on or before 15th April. There is no change in how TweetDeck will work, only change is from where you will access it.

Also, Twitter has brought a small change in order to provide a more seamless login experience. Earlier you had to login separately on #-Link-Snipped-# and TweetDeck, but not anymore. Now, if you are already logged in into #-Link-Snipped-# or #-Link-Snipped-# then you need not login separately on TweetDeck, thus making it easier to move between the two. This change will rolling out throughout the world over the coming weeks.

So, what do you think about these changes by Twitter? Please share your views with us in comments below.
