Tiny Black Hornet Nano Unmanned Air Vehicle Goes On Duty In Afghanistan

Last month we wrote about this  #-Link-Snipped-#, but here is something more fancy that is surely not meant to be someone’s toy. Meet the Black Hornet Nano Unmanned Air Vehicle. This tiny 4-inch drone is capable of flying at speeds of 22 miles per hour for about 25 minutes and record videos with its inbuilt camera. The drone can be controlled from up to half a mile away and can be used to scope out snipers and view around obstructions.

The navigation route of this drone can be planned in advance as it supports GPS. The craft can also be instructed to stay and hover at a particular spot for surveillance. Considering its tiny size it took its inventor Peter Muren of Norway based Prox Dynamics years to make sure that the craft can withstand heavy wind gusts. But getting your hand on one of these is not going to be easy because each drone costs 125,000 USD (6,653,165.98 INR).
