It has always been known that men tend to forget dates, but once he forgets about his marriage anniversary it is sure that all hell will break loose. So to save you from your wife’s ire, Alaska Jewelry has developed a concept 14 K gold ring named as ‘The Remember Ring’ that will remind you of the upcoming anniversary with the help of heat. The Remember Ring utilises Hot Spot technology to warm up its interior surface to 120 degrees Fahrenheit for ten seconds on the day before the anniversary. And during the day of your anniversary it shall remain warn for the entire day. To keep track of time, a micro thermopile converts the users’ heat to electricity to charge up the batteries and the microchip clock present inside the ring.

When you place the order for the ring, the company will ask you the anniversary date which would be programmed on to the device. The ring would be available in seven styles in 14K white and yellow gold for a price of 760 USD (44,381 INR). But if you ask me, it is a really stupid gadget. Why, you ask?

Well, for starters the company does not mention on its #-Link-Snipped-#, how to switch off the heat alarm. So even if you remember your anniversary and bring a gift to your wife, you will have to deal with the 120° F (48.8° C) on your special day. The second trouble, it has been programmed to remember only one date. A user programmable device would have been a lot better, as it would help the person to remember various dates. So the lesson is, set a remainder on your smartphone or dumbphone or internet calendar, it is much simpler that way.
