Techkriti' 2015, IIT Kanpur

#-Link-Snipped-# is an annual inter-college Technology and Entrepreneurship festival organized by the students of IIT Kanpur.

Etymologically, the word 'Techkriti' is composed of two words, 'Tech' in English which stands for technology and 'Kriti' in Sanskrit stands for creation, hence, the word 'Techkriti' signifies creation or innovation in technology.

Techkriti was launched in 1995 with the aim of developing interest and encouraging innovation in technology among students. In 2009, Megabucks (the Business and Entrepreneurship festival of IIT Kanpur) was merged with Techkriti, recognizing the increasing interdependence of business and technology. In its twenty first edition, Techkriti has evolved and grown, fulfilling its purpose and becoming one of the most eagerly-awaited college technical festivals in Asia. Techkriti culminates into a grand four-day festival, attracting footfall of over 25,000 from all over India and even abroad.

Every year, Techkriti, with its social campaigns addresses one major issue prevailing in the world at large. The underlying theme of Techkriti’15 is also not only focuses on technology but on society as well. Scientific advancement has always been the need of the hour but that does not rule out the fact that it is the people who will benefit from it. In order to have a smart planet we need to have smarter and healthier people. This initiative has been taken up by the technological and entrepreneurial festival of IIT Kanpur.
