Like every year, IIT Bombay will be organizing Techfest 2013 between 3rd to 5th January, which is just a few months away from now. With a super-looking website already up, we get a glimpse of what all events can be expected from the event in this academic session. The broad categories for the events are - Initiatives, Ideate, Competitions, Workshops, Lectures, Exhibitions, Technoholix and Ozone.

Under the competitions category - we have:
"International Robotics Challenge" or IRC. The qualifying rounds for IRC will be held in all participating countries - Bangladesh, Egypt, India, Indonesia,Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Thailand, UAE. Winners of each of these country legs will get direct entry into: International Robotics Challenge Grand Finale to be held during Techfest at IIT Bombay. If you are going be a participant here, you have chances of winning prizes worth INR 4,50,000.

Another such category is TechOlympics, which holds 4 genres Line Following, Aqua Robotics, Aeromodeling and Coding.
We all remember the entrance of Aamir Khan (Rancho) in the famous movie 3 Idiots, and the comment that follows from R. Madhavan (Farhan) is: "8th Standard Physics. Humne padha tha, saale ne apply kiya. (All of us had studied it, but he implemented it!)". And its Ranchos like these who can simply ace this segment i.e. 'Dimensions'

In the 'Xtreme Machines' Competition - you have two events: Robowars: Fatal Combat & Full Throttle Unleashed. For programmers, you have the 'Code Czar' event that includes: TechOlympics - Programm -able, Browser-X, Hack-Tricks and Zero<1>.

Exhibitions are another feature of the event that engineers look forward to!

Exhibitions are an amalgamation of the past, the present and most importantly the future. Its not just for the yound budding minds of engineers and prospective engineers but it also gratifies the old and young alike. It has seen it all starting from world’s most advanced robots to life size bone structure of prehistoric animals to art exhibits from world renowned art organizations. With thePR-2 robot from Willow Garage, Aldebaran – NAO Robotics, ECCEROBOT-2 gracing the podium in recent years, the 16th edition promises to mesmerize you with a unique collection of exhibitions from across the globe and leave you enchanted and astounded.

Feels so great to be the part of TechFest community in Hall Of Fame...The largest technical festival of Asia..from most prestigious institute IIT Bombay
Actually Iam the international winner of Techfest 2011 in event named 'RoboPolo'...based upon aquatic robotics.
Miss those beautiful days!!😀 Hope students of India keep up the effort to prove that it doesn't takes a brandname(like IIT/NIT/any other A grade institute) to be recognised. Iam an engineer from a very very small institute from a small city, of which Iam proud of. What it really takes is..just a small INITIATIVE to create a Change!
