Sony Debuts Xperia T3; Offers Android KitKat In A 7mm Thin Stainless Steel Frame

While the world was busy gawking at Apple’s Apple WWDC 2014 Highlights : The Top 10 Announcements That Matter, Sony quietly unveiled its new Android KitKat flavoured smartphone, Xperia T3. As you have already guessed from the name it’s a mid-range smartphone from the company. It manages to outshine its competitors with the help of its stainless steel frame which interestingly serves as the antenna of the phone. We would like to point out that the Xperia T3 isn’t made entirely out of stainless steel; its back cover is made out of a matte material which makes it more comfortable in the hands of the user. On the front we find a big 5.3 inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) resolution IPS panel which is laced with Sony’s proprietary display technologies like TRILUMINOS and Bravia Engine 2. Even at a bigger size it manages to achieve a pixel per inch figure of 227 ppi. The Sony Xperia T3 runs Android 4.4 (KitKat) with the help of a 1.4 GHz Snapdragon Qualcomm quad-core processor and 1GB of RAM which gives plenty of space for multitasking.


In terms of photography, we find the Xperia T3 equipped with a pulsed LED flash equipped 8MP Exmor RS for mobile sensor on the rear and a 1.1MP sensor on the front. The rear camera is able to record full HD videos and provide HDR (High Dynamic Range) for photos and videos. The front camera however is able to record 720p videos and will suffice for video calling. On the connectivity front you are duly covered with LTE, Wi-Fi, DNLA, USB (microUSB, USB tethering, charging), NFC and Miracast. The internal memory of the Xperia T3 maxes out at 8GB and the 32GB microSD card slot makes up for the lack of storage. The phone will make its way globally at the end of July 2014.
