Seagate Launches "The Guardian" Series Internal Storage Solution In USA

Seagate, the pro hardware solution provider has just launched a plethora of internal hard-drives for your personal desktop that features an extra 2 TB than their last offerings. All combined, they are crowned as “The Guardian”. Targeting the 4 different aspects, each one provides 10 TB storage except “Firecuda” variant, specially designed to meet the needs of the desktop computers, network attached storages and surveillance systems. Now considering individually, the 4 has promised to perform the state-of-the-art job as per its listed values.

From the reference, Seagate Unveils Its New Helium Packed 10TB Hard Drive has decided to redesign the taste of BarraCuda with lightning speed and versatility. It incorporated a huge storage capacity up to 10 TB(for BarraCuda Pro only) coupled with a speed of 7200 rpm, corresponding to which the market has tagged this as the highest quality HDD justifying each bit of its name-double’s furiousness. Fixing the spotlight on the pro instead of 2 other makes you look at the best of Seagate’s.

Featuring a large form factor of 3.5 makes it compatible to too many categories of in-kind devices. The pro version also boasts of a large cache size paired with Multi-Tier Caching technology, a fast data transfer rate of 220MB/s, Seagate's Self-Encryption Drive (SED) technology etc. The device is also backed up by 5 year limited period warranty. BarraCuda Pro’s siblings, that are a little low in specification quality, generally lack in form factor and provide less storage space with ranges of options coming with a choice of 2 years limited warranty at maximum.

Jumping on the next variant FireCuda, it’s an SSHD, solid state hybrid drive sporting both the qualities of SSD and HDD. Durable, the flash-gamer has been adapted to feature the blended quality in terms of speed and performance. Speed – 5x than any other HDDs and about performance? Taking the best from both the technologies it performs as an SSD but capacity is as good as an HDD. The cross has generated a successful version which is mostly advanced as a gaming support tool. However, the storage is cut down to 2 TB which is equivalent to BarraCuda medium range version. This also features the power saving technology and low power consuming components that again provides it a brand sticker, supporting Green technology.

The rest two, Ironwolf and Skyhawk has been assembled to be as smart as the other too. The first one, Ironwolf sports an AgileArray NAS-optimization clubbed with Multi-Tier technology. Robust in design this also gives a maximum storage of 10 TB paired with Multi-user technology. As a benefit, file sharing has taken up a new turn. Skyhawk is further made to watch and video record for 24x7. Packed with the latest technology, the device sports a 10,000 hours of HD video on capacities up to 10 TB. Now about the price tag, BarraCudea is available for $535 dollars where its shorter versions cost only $40 and Ironwood is available at $470.
