Samsung W2014 Is Yet Another Android Flip-Phone, But The First To Feature Snapdragon 800

Samsung, the South Korean smartphone manufacturer, has become unstoppable when it comes launching flip phones. Bringing back the old as well as the gold, the company has launched Samsung W2014, an Android flip-phone - a third smartphone in a row this year. Unveiled in partnership with China Telecom, the Samsung W2014 gets its power from a quad-core 2.3GHz Snapdragon 800 processor along with 2GB of RAM and thus makes it the world's first to feature such a fast and powerful CPU. The phone features two 3.7-inch Super AMOLED touch-screen displays with a resolution of 480x800 pixels. Along with dual screens, along comes support for Dual-SIM. On board are two cameras - a 13-megapixel on the rear and a 2-megapixel one on the front.

The Samsung W2014 features 32GB inbuilt storage with additional 64GB expandable storage support and a 1900mAh removable battery. Running on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, the W2014 model looks and is pretty light-weight. The Samsung W2014 specs list the weight as 173.5g, thus making this phone the lightest model in the "Heart Of The World" clamshell family since the W699.

The price and availability of the Samsung W2014 still remain unknown, but we have good reasons to believe that it may cost more than CNÂ¥10,000 in China (approximately U.S. $1600+). And the price roughly converts to Rs. 101,048 in India. Though the W2014 doesn't look like something everyone would go running after, we have to wait and see how it works with the flip-phone lovers. How about you?
