Samsung Game Recorder+: Recording Mobile Gaming Footage Was Never This Easy

We all know that gaming footage recording and viewing is a huge market thanks to Amazon’s Twitch and Google’s YouTube Gaming. While both services cater to console and desktop gamers no one has ever thought of mobile gaming enthusiasts who have to rely on risky screen recording apps that often require rooting of the Android device. Samsung has taken interest in solving this issue by releasing the Game Recorder+ Android app at E3 2015. The Game Recorder+ app is available for download on the Google Play Store and the Galaxy App Store for select Samsung smartphones such as Galaxy S6, S6 edge, Galaxy S5, Note 4, S4, Note 3 and Note 2. The app can be downloaded free of charge.

The Samsung Game Recorder+ app allows users to record any games up to full HD 1080p resolution. Users are also free to alter the bit rate and resolution of the recorded video. The app comes with its own editor and allows uploading to YouTube from the app itself. The best feature of the app is its floating UI that hovers over each game once you activate the app. This means you do not have to switch from the game you are playing to the Game Recorder+ app to begin, pause or stop the recording. The Game Recorder+ facilitates the process of making game walkthroughs by recording touch interactions and personal video commentary. Once you select the personal commentary option you get the freedom to use the front-facing camera and built-in microphone to record your video commentary over the game audio. If you do not wish you include your face in the commentary video you can switch to plain audio commentary by uploading an image to disable the front camera.

If you own Samsung’s current flagship handsets, the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge you can record noise-free gaming audio by disabling the microphone. Samsung has added a “Game Boost” option that which maximises memory usage by shutting down unnecessary background apps, a feature that has already been on the Android platform thanks to Cheetah Mobile’s numerous apps. So if you are a premium Samsung smartphone or phablet owner try out the app and tell us your experience in the comment section below.
