Samsung Galaxy Note 5 Launch Expected In July

Samsung Galaxy Note 5 may launch as early as in July this year, reports Whowired Korea. The Galaxy Note series of phablets have been extremely popular ever since their launch back in 2011. The popularity of big-screen Note series even pushed Apple to acknowledge that there indeed is demand for the phablets and drop its stand that it will never make phones that are over 5" in size; which resulted into the launch of iPhone 6 Plus.

Typically, Samsung launched the Note series phones in the month of September every year. However, the reports are hinting that Samsung has already built a prototype and showed it to the global major telecom companies so that they can begin accepting pre-orders after the official launch in July.

There could be multiple reasons that Samsung's accelerating the development of Galaxy Note 5. The high-end smartphones typically have a very short honeymoon time and all the new smartphones have to fight the iPhone fad. With Apple entering the phablets market with the 'Plus' series, Note 5 can't have the luxury of being the only leader in the market segment. Samsung would definitely want to ride on the popularity wave of recently announced Samsung S6 and S6 edge phones.

The Note 5 may launch with Samsung's upcoming payments service - 'Samsung Pay'. While not much information is available about the hardware specifications, it's expected that Note 5 will feature Exynos processor. It also remains to be seen whether Samsung will debut two Note models - Samsung Note and Samsung Note Edge, with double edged display.

We look forward to your views and opinions on the early launch of Note 5. Do you think upcoming Apple iPhone 6s and 6s Plus would find it difficult to handle the Samsung salvo?

Yeah. I personally look forward to seeing Samsung launch the Note 5 Edge! I'm quite sure Samsung doesn't want to leave much room for Apple. I'd also bet with Note 5 Edge, there would be several people who'd jump the boat from Apple to Samsung camp.
